Frequently asked questions

How much is the PhilHealth contribution?

The premium is 5% of your monthly basic salary. Salaries below ₱10,000.00 are computed as ₱10,000.00, and salaries above ₱100,000.00 are computed as ₱100,000.00.

Who pays the PhilHealth premium?

For employed members, the premium is divided equally: you pay half through salary deduction and your employer pays the other half. If it does not divide evenly, your share is the lower half and your employer pays the extra centavo.

Did the PhilHealth rate go up in 2026?

No. PhilHealth Advisory No. 2026-0042 (July 2026) says the 5% rate that took effect in January 2025 still applies. This was the last scheduled increase under the Universal Health Care Act.

Is PhilHealth based on my gross pay?

No. Employers must use your monthly basic salary: fixed basic rate; excludes commissions, overtime, allowances, 13th month pay and bonuses. Unpaid absences and tardiness are also not deducted from it.
