Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a regular holiday and a special non-working day?

On a regular holiday you are paid 100% of your daily wage even if you don't work, and 200% if you work. On a special non-working day the rule is "no work, no pay", and you get 130% if you work.

Is a special working day a holiday?

No. A special (working) day is treated as an ordinary working day for pay, so you get your regular wage if you work and no pay if you don't.

When are Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha?

They are regular holidays, but their dates depend on the Islamic calendar. The President declares the exact dates in separate proclamations, usually a few days before, based on the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.
