Estimate your SSS retirement pension
Estimate only. SSS computes your actual pension from your contribution records.
How the SSS pension is computed
Your monthly pension is the highest of:
- ₱300.00 + 20% of your AMSC + 2% of your AMSC for each credited year beyond 10
- 40% of your AMSC
- ₱1,000.00
It is never less than ₱1,200.00 if you have 10 credited years, or ₱2,400.00 with 20. You also receive a ₱1,000.00 monthly benefit allowance, and 10% (at least ₱250.00) for each dependent child, up to 5.(RA 11199, Secs. 12, 12-A, 12-B)
Your AMSC is the higher of: the average of your last 60 monthly salary credits before the semester of retirement, or your total monthly salary credits divided by your number of contributions. Credited years are calendar years in which you paid at least 6 monthly contributions.(RA 11199, Sec. 8)
Worked example
AMSC ₱20,000.00, 30 credited years, retiring at 60:
- Formula 1: ₱12,300.00 · Formula 2: ₱8,000.00 · Formula 3: ₱1,000.00
- Basic pension: ₱12,300.00 + allowance ₱1,000.00 = ₱13,300.00 a month
Frequently asked questions
Who can get an SSS retirement pension?
You need at least 120 monthly contributions, and you must be at least 60 and separated from work (or have stopped self-employment), or at least 65. With fewer than 120 contributions there is no monthly pension. The law gives a one-time lump sum equal to the total contributions paid by you and on your behalf, but only if you are at least 60, separated from work, and not continuing to pay contributions on your own. The law doesn't say directly whether you can keep paying until you reach 120 and get a monthly pension instead, so ask SSS about your options before you file.
How is the monthly pension computed?
SSS uses the highest of three amounts: ₱300.00 + 20% of your average monthly salary credit (AMSC) + 2% of your AMSC for each credited year beyond 10; 40% of your AMSC; or ₱1,000.00. The pension is at least ₱1,200.00 with 10 credited years, or ₱2,400.00 with 20. You also get a ₱1,000.00 monthly benefit allowance.
What is the average monthly salary credit (AMSC)?
It is the higher of: the average of your last 60 monthly salary credits before the semester of retirement, or your total monthly salary credits divided by your number of contributions. This calculator uses the Regular SS salary credit, up to ₱20,000.00, because credits above that go to your MPF savings. Check your actual AMSC with SSS.
What are credited years of service?
They are calendar years in which you paid at least 6 monthly contributions.
Is the SSS pension going up?
Yes. Under the SSS Pension Reform Program, retirement pensions increase by 10% in 2025, 10% in 2026, 10% in 2027. Each increase applies to your pension plus the benefit allowance, but only if you are already a pensioner by that year's cut-off date (the last is August 31, 2027).
Do my children get anything?
Yes. Each dependent child gets 10% of your pension or ₱250.00, whichever is higher, for up to 5 children. This calculator computes it on your basic pension, without the benefit allowance.
